Perfect stop-over to break the journey between Queenstown and Christchurch, with very helpful and friendly staff.
No particular dislikes - just good accommodation as a reasonable price!
Friendly welcome. Compact comfortable studio with toaster and kettle, adequate for our needs.
Value for money and frienly management Very clean and comfortable
Excellent service as usual definitley my favourite motel to stay at!
The people were lovely and while an older style motel, it had everything you needed.
The shower, ran off instant hot water and was very poor flow to keep it warm enough
clean , comfortable and warm. very friendly owners. it was the perfect place to stop and relax for the night before finishing our journey to queenstown
Top value for money,
Omarama as a town lacks personality, it is just a tourist stop. Hence this is no reflection on the motel whatsoever.
The motelier explain things really well and met us at the unit then showed us around it. He had little notices up, encouraging the clients to recycle. He gave us a choice in what kind of milk we could have. He had Triton heating systems. He had turned on the heating well in advance of our arrival so the rooms were really cosy. The bedding was generous.
When I had a shower, the water failed to all flow down the plug hole. Some tracked over to the toilet so when I used that later, I got wet feet. I left the water so he would realize there was a problem. I think the floor must be slightly tilted down towards the toilet. The mattress was a normal mattress but at home we have a memory foam mattress. So every time my partner moved, the bed rocked and woke me up except when I managed to dream there was an earthquake happening (I'm from Chch). But it's only because I'm used to our mattress. However, our mattress is very expensive and it's unrealistic to have a mattress of our quality in a motel. But you did ask... The pillow was a little firm but that's an individual taste and you can't please everyone. It was probably a better than average pillow. But I'm really fussy! I've have a feather pillow. Just being honest and I wouldn't moan about these things to anyone else except you did ask. But I didn't have a good night's sleep with the rocking plus my partner left the door open so we got too hot which made him shift even more in his sleep...moan, moan.
convenient location and easy to heat
every thing apart from cool shower
shower not the best
We were upgraded to a bigger unit. Very friendly obliging owners. Very warm and cosy.
Bedroom was too small fir the size of the bed.
Clean and basic; no frills but comfy; a great lock up and go.
Shower could be upgraded.
Convenient parking and excellent crockery and kitchen utensils (newish pots and pans). Heating and electric blankets were fine too!
After watching the News we experienced a No signal on Freeview which lasted until we left the next day. Sky would have been our preferred option.
The staff were lovely the room was perfect for my needs will defiantly stay again
Passing through to Christchurch from Wanake via Duntroon. Motel although clean,is old. One kitchen cupboard door was hanging from its hinges. Reported same, was told we were short staffed and "my husband has not got round to fixing it yet". Why do motels have the worst branded tea bags, coffeee bags that you can buy Not all of us take the these items with us when we leave, and a good cup of tea/coffee on one's arrival is an important part of the experience.
